The concept of my project is a play field for small animals, such as chinchilla. My project was inspired by I have two chinchillas and they are really active. The Chinese word for chinchilla means “Dragon Cat”; that’s why I made decision to create the play field with the body shape of legendary dragon. The wave shape use a lot in abstract act, but I would like to relate both of abstract and symmetry for the project. Also, I decided to do not paint the plywood with different color because I do not want small animals touche toxic substances.
Process
It made of 3/8 inches wide plywood and 1/4 inches wide wood sticks to build the playground because the chinchillas are familiar with wood material. Plywood has a cross-laminated structure and is durable through drastic temperature and moisture changes, making it ideal for flooring and framework in locations where exposure to moisture is likely.
